Over House of Joy Zutphen
House of Joy Zutphen is an initiative for refugees in our city that originated from a partnership between the local Compassion Foundation and the Gave Foundation from Harderwijk.
The Gift Foundation locally initiates and stimulates the establishment of a House of Joy in collaboration with the local churches. There are now 4 Houses of Joy in the Netherlands.
The Gave Foundation is a Christian organization that works at a national level for the work among refugees.
Their keywords are: fled, seen, loved.
For more information, see their website: www.gave.nl
After a preparation phase of more than a year and after the necessary bumps, it was decided on February 12, 2020 to give this project House of Joy Zutphen the green light.
House of Joy Zutphen is being designed by an enthusiastic steering group with people from the various churches of Zutphen and with support from Sjaak Verboom, who is relationship manager of Stichting Gave.
House of Joy Zutphen aims to be a place for refugees where they can feel at home. A House of Joy is a recognizable place where there is a diverse range of activities, where personal contacts can be deepened and there is also the opportunity to have a conversation about God and faith. Every refugee, regardless of faith, is welcome.
This website is still under development; we hope that more and more information will be available in the coming months.
We hope you will visit our website regularly! For now: Goodbye!
